A contemporary reference in the interior design industry used to describe the process of renovating or remodeling an interior or exterior space/surface with innovative materials, which allow for personalization. Used in reference to restyling or personalizing a wall or various surfaces including furniture and devices. Gingerit could be a wall, a portion of surface or any device that has been personalized with new generation films, stickers, interactive glasses or displays.

It was introduced by a team of Italian designers engaged with the renovation of environments which owners demanded a constant personalization. The idea of the designers was to “revitalizing” all surfaces with different images and colors any day.

Gingerit is also used for personalizing devices wit colorful and customized stickers or films to be placed on the case around the display.

Origionating in liverpool this phrase started because of a woman named Marie who always had lipstick on her teeth. People who knew her began using the phrase, which then spread to their friends, and friends of firends etc. untill the phrase became fairly common.
