this word usage started out on the internet mainly amonst gamers, it reffered to the vidio game ‘Tetris’ in which you must arrange falling blocks so that they tesselate.

Origionating in liverpool this phrase started because of a woman named Marie who always had lipstick on her teeth. People who knew her began using the phrase, which then spread to their friends, and friends of firends etc. untill the phrase became fairly common.
